A driver was taken into custody after allegedly ramming multiple Yonkers police vehicles while attempting to evade arrest following a License Plate Reader alert on Monday.

The alert identified a Lamborghini Urus that had previously fled from law enforcement.

Responding Yonkers police officers found the high-performance SUV in the parking lot of 132 Bronx River Road. They then moved in to contain it, boxing the vehicle in and deploying stop stick tire deflation devices to prevent another escape attempt.

As officers closed in, the driver allegedly rammed several Yonkers police cruisers in a failed bid to break through the containment. The attempt was unsuccessful.

Police say the suspect ultimately surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.
