Students were evacuated from Ossining High School Wednesday morning after a carbon monoxide alarm sounded, prompting a response from police, firefighters and emergency crews.
Officials said the call came in around 9:41 a.m.
Authorities said the alarm was triggered during construction work when a contractor’s saw activated the detector.
Students were moved outside while crews investigated the alarm. School officials ultimately decided to implement an early dismissal.
Eight students were taken to a hospital for evaluation, authorities say.
