News 12 has obtained exclusive video that appears to show a Town of Chester official shooting and injuring a lost DoorDash driver at his home earlier this week.
The leaked Ring video was sent by an anonymous source and is among the evidence police have that appears to show Chester Highway Supervisor John Reilly, 48, shoot the 24-year-old dasher Friday night while the victim tries to get away in his car.
The video shows the shooter exit the home with what appears to be a firearm strapped on his back and another gun in his right hand. The victim’s car is yards away toward the end of the driveway. Three shots are fired toward the DoorDash driver’s car while the shooter is heard yelling out, “Go!” Sounds of the victim screaming are then heard when the dasher appears to be hit by the last bullet from yards away.
The incident happened on Valerie Drive last Friday in Orange County. State police say the dasher was trying to deliver food and was shot once in the back by Reilly after going to several different neighboring houses to find the right address.
The dasher is seen just before the shooting in a separate
Ring video that News 12 obtained from a neighbor showing him with a bag and his cellphone in his hands, saying he needed help and was having problems with his phone.
The victim survived but has serious injuries, according to state police. His family tells News 12 that he remains hospitalized and is “getting better by the day.”
Reilly is facing weapons and assault charges and made bail earlier this week.
Town officials say they haven’t heard from Reilly since his arrest and that he hasn’t returned to work.
The town supervisor is speaking with News 12 about the incident and the future of Reilly’s employment. News 12 will have his interview plus more new details in the case tonight at 5 p.m.
