A longtime Burger King location at the Spring Valley Market Place in Spring Valley is now operating under a new name - Jumbo King Burger.

The owner, Ranjana Jethwa, said the restaurant recently made the transition while keeping the same employees in place and introducing changes to the menu.

"The staff is the same. The food is a better quality. It's a much bigger burger," Jethwa said.

Jethwa, who lives in New Jersey, said she and her family have owned the location for about two decades. She said the change was driven by financial and legal issues involving the fast-food chain and a mortgage company in the years following her husband's death.

"I have to survive. In order for me to survive, I had to do this," Jethwa said.

The Spring Valley location is not the first restaurant to make the switch. Jethwa recently converted another former Burger King location in Paterson, New Jersey, to Jumbo King Burger and said she is preparing to make the same change at a location in Sparta.

Customers shared positive reactions to the new restaurant rebrand in Rockland.

"I like the French fries a little bit better than the last one," said Spring Valley resident Lloyd Jack.

Nanuet resident Hector Ruiz pointed to additions on the menu and continuity among employees.

"They have wings. On top of that, they still have the same staff, so you're going to get the best service as always," Ruiz said.

Customers can expect to see the restaurant continue transitioning to the new brand.

The restaurant remains open every day.
