The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze returns to Westchester County on Friday, kicking off another season of illuminated pumpkin displays at Van Cortlandt Manor.

Now in its 21st year, the popular fall attraction continues to grow. Organizers say this year's event will feature the longest trail of illuminated pumpkin displays in Blaze history.

Visitors can expect to see more than 7,000 hand-carved and illuminated pumpkins spread across 23 themed areas throughout the grounds.

Each year, event organizers say five carvers are the masterminds behind carving 250,000 pounds of pumpkins ahead of the show.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze opens Friday evening and runs through Nov. 8.

"As soon as the show is open, we're already thinking of what we can come up with next year," said Creative Lead Carmen Doyon.

Event organizers say to dress for the weather and get tickets in advance, as they do tend to sell out.
