Local students praised for Envirothon participation

The event, held at Croton Point Park, tested students' knowledge on environmental topics such as forestry, land use, and wildlife.

Over 180 students from 14 public and private high schools in Westchester, Putnam, and Ulster counties participated in the 2025 Westchester County Regional Envirothon.
The event, held at Croton Point Park, tested students' knowledge on environmental topics such as forestry, land use, and wildlife.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins praised the students, saying, "The future of Westchester's environment is in your hands." The winning team will represent Westchester County at the New York state competition.
Winners:
Rye Neck: 1st place in Forestry
Scarsdale: 1st place in Soils and Land Use
Fox Lane: 1st place in Wildlife
Lincoln High School: 1st place in Current Issue
Rye High School: 1st place in Aquatic Ecology
Rye Country Day: 1st place in Oral Presentation
Mount Academy: Overall Champion
Rye Neck: Westchester County winner
