To infinity and beyond ... right into Hartford's Connecticut Science Center!
"The Science Behind Pixar" is a larger-than-life exhibit that lifts the curtain on the movie magic behind some of the world’s most beloved animated films.
“Throughout the exhibition we’re highlighting something like 22 different jobs to produce one film at Pixar,” says the marketing and digital vice president Sean Nadeau. “There’s lighting technicians, animators, story artists.”
From the colorful chaos of "Cars" to the futuristic charm of "WALL-E," the gallery dives into the STEM-powered process behind Pixar’s storytelling.
Visitors can try their hand at 3D animation, modeling, lighting and more – even rigging, in case you have ever wondered how Mike Wazowski and Sulley from "Monsters, Inc." looked so real.
“The Science Behind Pixar is an interactive exhibit that offers people a hands-on opportunity to understand how we make our films,” says Jim Morris, president of Pixar Animated Studios. “At Pixar, we use science, technology, engineering, art and math – along with a significant dash of creativity and fun – and this exhibit is truly a great demonstration of how all those ingredients come together in our filmmaking process."
The Science Behind Pixar exhibit is open until August 2025.
