The results are in for the 2026 primary elections here in New York.
Here's how everyone fared.
New York's 17th Congressional District
Army veteran Cait Conley won a five-way Democratic primary in New York's 17th Congressional District.
She said voters "wanted a fighter" to go to Washington, DC.
"I'm incredibly proud of the coalition we built across the district," she said. "Being able to win across all four counties was really, really humbling and inspiring and I think we're just going to keep building on that message."
She'll face Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in November.
Lawler wrote on social media following Conley's win: “Overly scripted soundbites and hyper-partisan name-calling backed by millions of dollars from Washington, DC party bosses might win a primary against underfunded local challengers, but it’s not going to win the nation’s most-watched congressional race against someone, like me, with a proven bipartisan record of delivering for this district.”
This general race is still considered New York's only true toss-up district.
New York State Comptroller
Incumbent New York Comptroller Tom DiNapoli defeated fellow Democrats Raj Goyle and Drew Warshaw in a three-way primary.
This was DiNapoli's first primary since taking this position.
Republicans have put forth entrepreneur Joseph Hernandez.
Westchester County
Assembly District 90
Frank Jereis defeated Jeanette Garcia in the Democratic primary for New York's 90th Assembly District.
Jereis is looking to replace retiring Assemblyman Nader Sayegh in the Yonkers District. He currently serves as the incumbent's chief of staff.
Republican businessman John Isaac is running in November.
County Legislature District 15
Yonkers NAACP President Kisha Skipper leads Greenburgh-North Castle United Teachers Union President Anthony Nicodemo by a slim margin in the Democratic primary for Westchester's 15th legislative district.
This race is still too close to call.
The winner will face the lone Republican on the Westchester County legislature, James Nolan, in November as he looks to defend his seat.
County Legislature District 17
Political newcomer Leslye Oquendo-Thomas leads the party's pick, Wilson Terrero, in the Democratic primary for Westchester's 17th legislative district.
This race is also too close to call.
The winner will most likely win in November to replace retiring legislator Jose Alvarado.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor
Incumbent Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner defeated Ardsley Village Trustee Barry McGoey in the Democratic primary.
Many considered this Feiner's most difficult challenge yet.
Feiner, who is a heavy favorite to win in November, would continue his streak as Westchester's currently longest-serving elected official.
North Castle Town Supervisor
Incumbent North Castle Town Supervisor Joseph Rende defeated North Castle councilman Jose Berra in the Democratic primary.
The North Castle Republican Committee has nominated Mel Ornella as the party's candidate in November.
Larchmont Village Mayor
Former Larchmont village trustee Brigid Brennan defeated Jonathan Silvers in the village's first-ever primary.
Following the election, Sara Bauer stepped down from her position and the town board appointed Brennan to fill out the remainder of Bauer's term, which expires at the end of this year.
There is no Republican on the ballot, so Brennan will likely win in November and pick up her first full term, starting next year.
Rockland County
Assembly District 96
Incumbent Assemblyman Patrick Carroll easily defeated primary challenger Stony Point accountant P.T. Thomas.
He'll now face Haverstraw Republican Committee Chairman and former Pomona Mayor Brett Yagel, who is the Republican candidate.
Putnam County
Senate District 39
Dutchess County Legislator Lisa Kaul won the three-way race against former Newburgh City Councilwoman Gay Lee and Poughkeepsie City Councilman Evan Menist.
This seat covers parts of Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties and is currently held by Republican Rob Rolison, who is seeking his third term after winning his last general election by just one percentage point in 2024.
County Legislature 3
Hudson Valley contractor Joseph Cunningham defeated Kent Town Councilman Jorma Tompuri.
Putnam Republicans backed Tompuri, while the Putnam Conservative Party supported Cunningham.
This seat is being vacated because the current legislator, Toni Addonizio, has reached her term limit.
Small business owner Kathy Kahng is the Democratic candidate in November.
County Legislator 8
Mahopac School Board member Tanner McCracken defeated Carmel Town Councilman Frank Lombardi.
Just like in the third district, the Putnam Conservative Party backed the winner, while the Putnam Republicans' candidate came up short.
This seat opened up after Amy Sayegh announced she would not seek reelection despite being eligible.
Environmental engineer Gwen Burke is the Democratic candidate in November.
Orange County
Chester Town Council
Chester Republican Committee member Robert Klein defeated incumbent Chester Town Councilman Robert Courtenay in this primary race.
Chester Republicans backed Klein.
The two will meet again in November because Courtenay holds the Democratic and Working Families Party lines even after losing on the Republican line.
Dutchess County
Assembly District 106
Incumbent State Assemblywoman Didi Barrett won her Democratic primary for the second election in a row.
Former special victims prosecutor Sam Hodge challenged Barrett.
She will face Hyde Park resident Gregory Campus, the Republican and Conservative candidate, in the November election.
