A retired Los Angeles police officer is headed to prison for a fatal shooting in Dutchess County in 2024.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi says 54-year-old Thomas Case, of Pleasant Valley, was sentenced to 20 years in county court.
Case was convicted of manslaughter for
shooting and killing 20-year-old Anthony Cuozzo.
Cuozzo was Case's girlfriend's son.
The jury deliberated for six days before finding that Case acted under the influence of extreme emotional disturbance.
Case was also sentenced to five years' post-release supervision.
