A woman suffered burns and went into cardiac arrest after being rescued from a three-alarm fire that spread between two Yonkers homes Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at 13 Cedar St., a three-story wood-frame building, according to fire officials.

While firefighters were responding, dispatchers received multiple reports of flames showing from the structure.

The first crews on scene found heavy fire and launched an aggressive interior attack and search.

Officials said the fire had already spread to the neighboring building at 15 Cedar St. when firefighters arrived.

A woman was removed from the original fire building with burns to her arms before suffering cardiac arrest, officials said.

Two other residents from the same building were also transported to a hospital.

All three people who were hospitalized were inside the first building where the fire started.

Officials said no one was inside the neighboring building at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the two structures and knocked down the main body of the fire.

Most of the damage was concentrated in the rear portions of the buildings, according to officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
