Part of Warburton Avenue in Hastings-on-Hudson will be reduced to one lane of traffic Wednesday.
Village officials say Veolia Water Company will install a new water main in the center of Warburton Avenue. Veolia will then complete tie-ins to the existing water system at two locations and transfer individual residential services to the new main.
The project will run from the Sinclair gas station at 339 Warburton Ave. to the start of Rowley’s Bridge and is expected to continue for the next eight weeks.
During that time, Warburton Avenue will be reduced to one lane between the Sinclair gas station and Rowley’s Bridge. Parking also will not be allowed on either side of the road.
Members of the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic control and roadway safety.
Residents in the area may experience brief water-service interruptions. Veolia plans to provide advance notice when work is scheduled near their homes.
