Heavy snow is said to be the cause for the roof that caved in, according to officials.
Crews were on scene for a while securing it and putting barriers around the perimeter of the building.
Authorities are at the scene of a building in Haverstraw that was evacuated on Thursday.
One side of the structure at 13 Middle St. appeared compromised, according to town police.
Tenants were evacuated, and an engineer was at the site to evaluate how to to fix the problem.
Fire crews worked with the tenants to bring them safely inside to gather belongings, but those living there say it's tough to grab what you need in a short amount of time.
"Grab as much as you can within the five minutes and then they're going to board it up. It's like, what do you take? Every single thing I own is in there. So I don't know what's more important than the other. Clothes, of course but then now that I think about it, did I get shampoo, did I get body wash? Things that I'm going to need every single day," said tenant Tracy Tiger.
The Red Cross is assisting six people.
According to officials, they're still working to determine what the next steps will be.
"Where do we go? We've been here for years. This is our home," said tenant Kim Parker.
