A building in Larchmont has been deemed uninhabitable after a car crashed into it on Gilder Street.

According to an initial investigation, officials say it appears the driver was trying to park when they accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

Everyone was able to get out safely following the crash.

New Rochelle’s collapse unit was called to the scene to shore up the inside of the building and make sure the structure was stable.

Officials said the building will remain posted as uninhabitable until the property owner can make the necessary arrangements with the Larchmont Building Department and contractors.

Crews remained on scene to make sure the building was secure.
