In Bedford, visitors can take a guided tour of Antioch Baptist Church. The Bedford Hills Community House will host a 3 p.m. performance by Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated vocalist Marcus Paul James and his band.
New Rochelle is holding a city-wide celebration at Glen Island Park from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring live music, food and an African marketplace. A flag-raising event at City Hall took place Wednesday.
Pound Ridge will host a free jazz concert at 7 p.m. on the green in Scotts Corners, featuring a trio of award-winning musicians.
In Nyack, Juneteenth celebrations at the Main Street farmers market run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include music from the Nyack High School Jazz Band, story time, line dancing and a bench rededication honoring Cynthia Hesdra and Toni Morrison.
Since Juneteenth is a federal holiday, many banks, government offices and schools are closed today.
