Police say a man is died during a construction incident in Putnam Valley.

It happened Friday evening around 5 p.m. at a home on Park Drive in the Town of Putnam Valley.

Police had initially reported that they responded to a report of a person who had been run over by a skid steer.

They currently say there is no indication the person was run over by the skid steer, as initially believed and reported.

A 56-year-old male was found deceased at the scene.

Police say it appears to be accidental, but it is under investigation.
