A Middletown woman has died after crashing her vehicle on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County.

Anysah Nelson lost control in the southbound lanes near Exit 14A just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to New York State Police.

Her vehicle veered off the right shoulder and struck a tree.

Nelson received medical attention at the scene and was taken to Nyack Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
