A Mount Vernon police officer has been arrested and suspended without pay after authorities say he was caught driving while intoxicated.

Department officials say the arrest happened Sunday morning in Queens while the officer was off duty.

The officer was identified as 29-year-old Steven Moreano.

Mount Vernon officials say Moreano has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.

The arrest marks the fourth time a Mount Vernon police officer has been arrested this year, according to department officials.
