A Westchester woman is trying to make prom more accessible.
Noel D'Allacco is the founder behind a nonprofit called Operation Prom National Network that provides free formal wear for prom.
"It's just amazing. Every year, there are more and more students who really need the help, and their families financially need the help, too. Prom is very expensive, costs just keep rising," D'Allacco said.
The organization is having a prom dress and tuxedo giveaway this weekend at the Westchester County Center.
"I do this because I love to see the smiles on the students' faces. They're so happy. They're so appreciative, there's tears of joy," D'Allacco said.
The donated dresses and tuxedos are available for high school seniors who bring a school ID or a report card.
