A plane has landed safely after a reported bird strike at Westchester County Airport Sunday morning, according to the Westchester County Police Department.

Police received a 911 call at 6:30 a.m. for a report of a bird strike on takeoff, with 59 people on board.

News 12 reached out to Westchester County Airport for more information on the incident but claimed they did not have any information on file as of midday Sunday.

Authorities could not confirm the type of aircraft or airline at this time.

Police say the plane landed safely back at the airport without incident.

It is unclear if anyone was injured.
