A swan was rescued after becoming stuck in an icy pond in Westchester County on Friday.

Rye police say the bird became trapped in the frozen water because of the cold temperatures.

Police and firefighters worked together to free the swan.

It was taken to the nonprofit wildlife sanctuary Animal Nation in South Salem.
