The woman who died after being found critically injured inside a Rye Brook home has been identified by police.

Officials say 37‑year‑old Samantha Maldacker died after remaining in critical condition for several days following an incident last Monday at a home on Westview Avenue.

Hugo Soto‑Diaz, 30, has been charged with attempted murder, police say.

Authorities have not released a cause of death.

There has been no word on whether the charges against Soto‑Diaz will be upgraded.
