A man who was involved in previous burglaries at Jimmy's Clothing & Footwear in Bridgeport was caught Wednesday for stealing items from the store, police say.
Prior to this latest incident, the store, located at 1000 Main St., was broken into seven times over four months, according to co-owner Dave Schneider.
Around 1 a.m., officers responded to a vandalism complaint at the store, according to authorities.
Schneider provided officers with a photograph of the suspect.
Using that photograph, officers found 46-year-old Michael Young, of Bridgeport, riding a bicycle near Fairfield Avenue and Seeley Street. Young was detained.
Police say Young had a black Nautica jacket in his possession that matched the description of the suspect. He also had a plastic bag that contained black jean shorts and a hoodie with tags still attached that Schneider confirmed were stolen.
Young was taken to police headquarters without incident.
It's not clear how many of the burglaries at the store were committed by Young.
