Four missing children were found in Spring Valley after authorities traced a report involving a missing 12-year-old girl, officials said.
Police received a call from the girl’s parents reporting she was missing.
The parents said a caller using a foreign phone number claimed to have their daughter and demanded $1,000 for her return, officials said.
The FBI and Spring Valley police tracked the girl to an address in Spring Valley.
Three additional missing children from the surrounding area were also found at the location.
Officials said three of the four juveniles were reported missing out of the Town of Clarkstown.
Police said all four juveniles knew each other.
A preliminary investigation found the children were not held against their will.
The Spring Valley Detective Bureau is actively investigating the ransom demand, police said.
No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released the address where the children were found.
The investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
