A United States postal worker in Rockland County was sentenced after admitting to
shoving a 4-year-old boy, according to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office.
Gabriel Stan, of Stony Point, was delivering mail on March 19 in the Town of Ramapo when he pushed the boy.
The 39-year-old was initially charged with attempted assault. Prosecutors say this charge was changed to endangering the welfare of a child, which Stan pleaded guilty to on Wednesday.
According to the DA's office, Stan was sentenced to three years of probation and six weeks of anger management classes. He was also fined $1,000 and ordered to stay away from the child.
The USPS confirms that Stan's employment has since been terminated.
