A celebration of Ukrainian culture, food and community took place in Westchester’s largest city.
The annual Ukrainian Heritage Festival was held this weekend in Yonkers, drawing people of all ages and backgrounds.
The event gave many a chance to honor their heritage and share family traditions.
“We’re far away from Ukraine, but we think about Ukraine and support Ukraine as always.”
“When I was born, my uncle, who is Ukrainian, used to teach me to polka and dance me around when I was a baby.”
“This is my first time coming, and I love it. I think the embroidery, the food — everything was great.”
Money raised during the three-day festival will be donated to organizations and charities that support Ukraine.
