The Yonkers Police Department has released dramatic bodycam footage of officers capturing a Bronx man accused of repeatedly fleeing police in his Lamborghini.
Investigators say 23-year-old Mohammed Al Lahabi has a suspended registration and escaped officers trying to pull him over in multiple jurisdictions.
That all changed when he decided to run an errand in Yonkers on July 13. Police say they received a License Plate Reader alert and tracked him down to a parking lot on 132 Bronx River Rd.
Officers deployed a deflation device under his tires and boxed him in with police cruisers so he couldn’t flee.
They began to smash his windows as he refused commands and attempted to drive at the police cruisers. He eventually surrendered and was taken into custody when he realized he had no way to escape.
In the bodycam footage, he could be heard asking, “What am I getting arrested for?”
“You guys coming at me for no reason!” he states as officers cuff him.
Police say he has been charged with reckless endangerment and assault. Additional charges are also pending as the investigation continues.
