First responders from White Plains and Yonkers are getting ready to hit the ice to raise money in their annual "Battle of the Badges" hockey game.
"We love going out there. It's always for a good cause," said White Plains Police Officer Ryan Wiley.
White Plains police and fire play against each other every year, collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House.
"A lot of these kids are, you know, sick or injured," said Wiley. "If they're from far away, it's nice to have their family close by and be able to stay with them while they're being treated."
As for the Yonkers police versus fire game, their proceeds benefit Elizabeth Seton Children's.
"That's really what it's all about. Win, lose, it doesn't really matter. It just matters the money's going somewhere that's going to make a difference," said Yonkers Police Officer William Sullivan.
Both games are taking place on April 11.
The Yonkers game is at 4 p.m. at the E.J. Murray Skating Center. White Plains follows that at 6 p.m. at Rye Playland.
