An 85-year-old man has died following a motor vehicle collision in Somers Thursday morning.

State police say Somers man, Gerard McKenna, was driving eastbound on West Hill Drive toward Warren Street, when his car left the roadway and hit a tree.

Mckenna was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police say they responded to the accident at 11:30 a.m. News 12 saw the car being removed by a tow truck around 2:30 p.m.
